Finnair rolls-out new business and premium cabins on more routes
Finnair’s new business class seating and revamped premium economy cabin will be available on more long-haul routes to Asia and the US from August.
The products, first introduced last spring, are the result of a €200 million, four-year-long investment in the airline’s customer experience which will also deliver a refreshed economy class.
From 1 August, the new cabins will be featured on services between Helsinki and Tokyo-Narita as well as on services to Los Angeles.
From 1 September the new seating will be available on services to Seoul, South Korea and then on services to Osaka, Japan from 13 September.
The new interiors are already available on the carrier’s route to Tokyo-Haneda as well as services to Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York JFK and Seattle.
“We have been tirelessly working away on refitting our aircraft, to make sure even more customers can enjoy our renewed elevated experience, so this is a huge step towards our goal,” said Anssi Partanen, Finnair market director, UK & Ireland.
The new business class cabin features a 1-2-1 configuration with seats, developed with Collins Aerospace, that have a contoured, cocoon-like shell designed to maximise ‘comfort, space and freedom to move’.
The new-look premium economy cabin, meanwhile, includes seating in a 2-4-2 arrangement on A350s and a 2-3-2 configuration on A330s, with a maximum of 26 seats.
The Nordic carrier’s new cabins will be available on 14 international services to Asia, the US and the Middle East this summer. Additional destinations will be announced “in due course” as the carrier reviews its winter schedule.
